Bowman County Commission recently had a request from officials of Southwest Healthcare Services for one million dollars and have so far received 250,000 dollars for the operational needs of the facility. Officials said that building the new facility did not in anyway cause the hospital’s current financial issues. Ten people have been let go and hours have been reduced for staff members. Hospital officials say the economic climate and the high cost of insurance since the Affordable Care Act, could be part of the problem. Southwest Officials plan a public meeting on August 24th to let residents know the latest information on the facility. Officials are very thankful the support of the County and city of Bowman.
