The Nebraska Public Service Commission will announce it’s decision on the Keystone XL Pipeline Project next Monday. The 1,179 mile pipeline has faced opposition from environmental groups, landowners and Native American tribes. Critics of the pipeline say the project isn’t needed because the demand for oil is down. Matthew John a spokesman for TransCanada explains that is just not the case.
President Donald Trump issued a federal permit for the project in March even though it had been rejected by the Obama administration. Trump said it would create jobs and lead to greater energy independence.
