A former sheriff in Wells County, ND entered a change of plea in his meth and bribery case. 42 year old Johnny Zip Lawson faced two felony and three misdemeanor charges stemming from an arrest in Bismarck last May.
The two felony charges were conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and bribery of an official.
Both took place while Lawson was serving as sheriff.
The Agreement included the dismissal of two felony charges and one misdemeanor, leaving Lawson with only one misdemeanor and an agreement to serve 30 days in jail. Lawson was looking at 25 years in prison had he been convicted of the most serious of the felony charges.
