The Glendive Kmart store has a official closing date. October 1st has been announced as the date for closure for the 20 permanent employees of the store. According to Store Manager Michael Cooley, “They don’t have a reason that’s specific or straight forward answer why the store was chosen for closure”. Kmart owns the building, but it is in the river floodplain, which has been a battle between the City of Glendive and federal officials. The store is currently going through it’s liquidation process. The store in Great Falls is also closing leaving stores in Havre, Helena, Hamilton, Kalispell and Butte the only remaining stores in Montana.
