West Nile Virus Hits Our Part Of The State

The First human cases of West Nile virus have been reported this season in Montana. Jen Fladager a nurse practitioner with the Montana Department of Health gives us the latest information on the cases the state is working with.

Fladager gives us tips on how we can prevent our chances of getting the virus by doing some very easy, common sense things.

If you have any questions or concerns you may call the Fallon County Health Department at 778-2824. Custer and Prairie counties have mosquito populations that have tested positive recently for West Nile.

Spiffy’s Raises Money For The Local Farm And Ranch Community

Spiffy’s Mobil 1 Lube Express and Car Wash of Baker helped raise money for the local farm and ranch community during their Customer Appreciation this past Saturday. Jay and Lori Quenzer also held a auction during the event and raised a total of 8,550 dollars during the auction alone. The free will food and car washes raised 2508.99 for a grand total of 11,058.99. Spiffy’s wishes to thank the entire community of Baker for their generosity.

Baker Sons Of American Legion Raise Money For A Good Cause

The 4th Annual Fallon County Rib Cook-Off was held at the Baker American Legion this past Saturday. The Baker Sons of American Legion hosted the event with seven teams competing. 239 people enjoyed an evening of great food and helped a great cause at the same time. The event raised 1,100 dollars for the Baker Fireworks Fund.
