Plevna Resident Appears In District Court

Shanna Medearis of Plevna appeared before Judge Nicolas C. Murnion in Fallon County District Court Tuesday October 10th to be arraigned on charges including drug distribution, drug possession, drug paraphernalia, and child endangerment. There are currently ten counts against the defendant, consisting of 7 felonies and 3 misdemeanors. Medearis entered a plea of not guilty to all counts. Judge Murnion reduced the cash bond from fifty thousand to fifteen thousand,and set her next court date for November 21st in Baker. Medearis remains free on bond.


Flu Shot Clinics

The Fallon County Health Department is offering two flu shot clinics to prepare us for the upcoming flu season. According to Administrator Kim Cuppy the flu bug has already hit the Western part of Montana. The first clinic will be at the Fallon County Health office located at 225 S. 3rd Street West this Friday from 8 am-2 pm. No appointment is needed for this clinic. The Second clinic will be Thursday October 19th in the Lake City Shopping Center, look for the Blue Cross Blue Shield van between the hours of 2-6 pm. Officials would like to remind you to bring your insurance card with you, if you don’t have insurance the cost is 40.00 dollars. If you can’t afford the flu shot they do have some free shots available.

National Stop Bullying Day

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and today the second Wednesday of the month is National Stop Bullying Day. Trent Harbaugh Fallon County Sheriff explains why he thinks bullying is so prevalent in our society today.

Sheriff Harbaugh says we need to get  a handle on this crisis.
