Snow Removal In Fallon County

Mother Nature is giving us our first taste of winter weather with the latest system rolling through the area. Crews are out making sure that residents can make it safely to work and school. Fallon County Road Supervisor Bobby Wiedmer explains the process that county road crews work to make the roads safe.

Baker Public Works Director Luke Holstine also has a plan in place for snow clean up in the city.

According to the Billings National Weather Service, periods of light snow will continue in the area through this afternoon. Gusty Northwest winds will cause blowing and drifting snow and poor visibility. Travel conditions will be difficult from Highway 12 from Government Hill to Baker and Highway 7 from Baker to Ekalaka. Winter Weather Hits The Region

The wintry weather we’ve had the past couple of days has reminded us that winter in Montana is unpredictable. Joe Lester of the Billings National Weather Service explains the reason for our snowy weather.

Lester gives us the latest forecast for the Baker area.

The new snowfall should melt in the next week, according to Lester it’s too early to know if we will have a White Christmas this year.
