A teacher in Miles City played a role in the recovery of a missing 17 year old girl who was allegedly abducted by her non-custodial father. Valerie Pachl is a teacher and counselor at Custer County High School and provided investigators with the information that helped them locate the girl.
Initially, it was reported that the teen left for school on a school bus, but never arrived in Ms. Pachl’s class. When the teacher heard that the teen had been reported as a runaway on the FBI’s National Crime Information Center, she remembered the girl had told her that her father was threatened to abduct her.
With the help of law enforcement, the girl was located and father arrested in Oklahoma. The father’s charges are pending and Pachl was honored on Friday at a ceremony in Miles City.
