Wayne Bennett of Baker, MT was sentenced yesterday in Fallon County Court. He had been charged with one count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs, a felony, and one count of criminal possession of drug paraphernalia.
Judge Nickolas Murnion cited Bennett’s initiative in seeking treatment as well as his ability to take responsibility for the offenses when making a judgement. Bennett was ordered to pay a $1000 fine and sentenced to three years in jail for criminal possession of dangerous drugs with the entire commitment to the Department of Corrections deferred.
Bennett was also ordered to pay a $400 fine and sentenced to 6 months in jail for criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, with all six months deferred. He will be required to wear a drug ‘patch’ while working with his parole officer.
