North Dakota State Senator Bill Bowman has announced his retirement due to his failing health. The 72-year-old Bowman Republican has been in and out of the hospital several times in the last year. Bowman explained he doesn’t want to retire, but he just can’t continue. Bowman represented North Dakota District 39 the largest district in the state. The district stretches from near Williston to the South Dakota border. Bowman was first elected to the Senate in 1990.
