A Glendive resident was sentenced last week for possession of child pornography. 28-year-old Shawn Michael Wentz was given a sentence of six years and six months in prison and will be on 10 years supervised release and to register as a sex offender when he is released from prison. Wentz did apologize for his actions and is looking forward to getting treatment while behind bars. Wentz pleaded guilty last October to the charges of possession of child pornography in a plea deal. All other counts were dismissed. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Billings last Thursday by District Judge Susan Watters who presided over the case. Agents with the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Task force in May 2015 learned that a computer at the Wentz residence has child pornography available for downloading. Agents again in June 2016 served Wentz with a search warrant and took possession of a desktop computer.
