Oneok has submitted a timeline to Fallon County officials regarding the upcoming pipeline project coming through Baker. Officials anticipate the pipeline to be operational by the third quarter of 2019. The timeline is dependent on factors out of Oneok’s control, like extreme winter weather and the attainment of easement agreements.
Weather has delayed much of the project, but Cathy Kirkpatrick, Government Liaison for Oneok, is optimistic that they can prepare much of the route in 2018 for construction to begin in early of 2019.
Officials from Oneok are also working to manage resources for an influx of employees expected in the area. They have been reaching out to other organizations with similar projects scheduled in the region to coordinate housing and other amenities necessary for a large workforce.
