Long time Wibaux County Attorney Ronald Efta has pleaded not guilty to obstructing a peace officer when Billings Police were alleged to use a stun gun on him for resisting arrest last week. According to reports, officers were called to the Montana Brewing Company on November 27 after a employee called officers to report a man causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. When he was told to leave, he became upset and wanted to know who called police. When Efta was being escorted out by officers, he allegedly tensed up and began to pull away from officers. He was then taken to the ground. Efta was allegedly still actively resisting officers attempts to place him in handcuffs. Due to his allegedly aggressive behavior toward officers, a Taser was used and the defendant was tased. Efta was eventually handcuffed after extra officers arrived on the scene. Efta was taken to the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. Efta has been Wibaux County Attorney since 1979.
