Trial begins next week for a Baker trucking company and its owner, who are alleged to have moved hazardous material illegally and obstructing a federal investigation after an explosion occurred at an oil product processing facility outside of Wibaux.
Woody’s Trucking LLC and it’s owner, Donald Wood Jr. have been indicted on 14 federal charges including wire fraud, mail fraud, obstruction of justice and transportation of hazardous material without the appropriate shipping paperwork and placards. In filing insurance paperwork, the company claimed to be transporting ‘KCL water’ instead of natural gas condensate, which is a hazardous material.
The charges could result in a sentence of 145 years in prison and fines of approximately $3.5 million. The jury trial is scheduled to begin Monday in U.S. District Court in Billings.
